Male Fertility Treatments in Abu Dhabi — A Clear Path Forward

A diagnosis of male factor infertility is a starting point, not an endpoint. For the majority of men, once the cause of a fertility challenge is identified, there is a clear and evidence-based treatment pathway available. The question is not whether something can be done — it is which approach is right for your specific situation.

At Umniya Fertility, male fertility treatment is part of an integrated couple pathway built around the Umniya Method®. Every treatment decision is informed by a complete diagnostic picture, coordinated by a dedicated Clinical Care Coordinator, and designed to give both partners the best possible chance of a healthy delivery in the shortest responsible time.

How Treatment Is Decided

Male fertility treatment is not prescribed in isolation. It follows directly from the findings of a thorough assessment — including semen analysis, hormonal evaluation, and where relevant, genetic and chromosomal testing.

Some men will be candidates for surgical intervention. Others will benefit most from advanced laboratory techniques used alongside IVF. In many cases, treatment for both partners is planned together, so that the approach is coordinated rather than sequential. Your fertility specialist will review all findings before any recommendation is made.

Depending on assessment findings, treatment options may include:

  • ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) — a precise laboratory technique in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg, used where sperm count, motility, or morphology is significantly reduced
  • Surgical Sperm Retrieval — retrieval of sperm directly from the testicle or epididymis in men where sperm is absent from the ejaculate, including TESA, PESA, and micro-TESE techniques
  • Varicocelectomy — surgical correction of varicocele — enlarged veins in the scrotum that can impair sperm production — one of the most common and correctable causes of male infertility

Where indicated, male fertility treatment is planned alongside the couple’s broader treatment pathway — including IVF, ICSI, and PGT — so that both assessments inform a single, coordinated plan.

Who Should Consider Male Fertility Treatment?

Male fertility treatment may be appropriate for:

  • Men with a confirmed diagnosis of low sperm count, poor motility, or abnormal morphology
  • Those where sperm is absent from the ejaculate due to blockage or production issues
  • Men with a varicocele identified on physical examination or ultrasound
  • Couples where IVF alone has not resulted in successful fertilisation
  • Those with a history of testicular injury, infection, or prior surgery
  • Men preparing for treatment that may affect future fertility, such as chemotherapy

Why Umniya

At Umniya, male fertility is not treated as a secondary consideration — it is half of every couple’s assessment and half of every treatment plan. Through the Umniya Method®, andrology, embryology, and reproductive genetics work as one coordinated system, so that findings from both partners shape a single, shared pathway forward.

Our laboratory deploys TMRW automated cryopreservation — the world’s first FDA-cleared platform for the management and storage of frozen sperm, embryos, and eggs — with RFID-based tracking and 24/7 cloud monitoring at every stage. From first assessment through to treatment outcome, your dedicated Clinical Care Coordinator is with you every step of the way.
